Frequently Asked Internet Marketing Questions

If you’re just starting out on the Internet, learning how to market your web site and products is an essential part of your success. However, this is an area in which many new Internet entrepreneurs struggle.

After receiving the same questions numerous times, I have devised a list of the most frequently asked Internet marketing questions.

Question: “Is it true that people are making millions on internet?”

Answer: Although there are a few individuals that may be making millions on the Internet, they are the exception — not the rule.

Making money on the Internet requires a total commitment and takes a great deal of time and effort. It’s not going to happen overnight, and it’s not easy. However, if you take the time to educate yourself and plan each step very carefully, you can definitely make a nice income online.

For further information, read the article series entitled, “The Birth of a Successful Internet Business.”

Question: “I recently launched a new web site and submitted it to the Search engines, but haven’t received the first visitor. Is there something I’m missing here?”

Answer: Although launching your web site and submitting it to the Search Engines is a great start, it is only the first step.

Many new Internet entrepreneurs believe that all they need to do is launch their web site and visitors will automatically start scrambling to their site. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t work that way.

Driving a steady stream of traffic to your web site takes a great deal of time and effort. You must develop a strategic marketing plan and continuously work it.

The best advice I can offer is this…get your link on as many web sites as you possibly can. The more links you have pointing to your web site, the more traffic you’ll receive.

There are many ways you can obtain links to your site:

How to get an Internet Marketing Education Without Spending a Nickel

Do you want to create a passive income? Are you bewildered by all the educational Marketing products out there? Are you on a low budget or trying to escape from a huge debt load?

Well, I answered a big “Yes!” to all the above, especially, the last one

My job sucks. I can barely make ends meet and I have some medical problems which make a “normal” working lifestyle very difficult.

That’s why I become an Affiliate. I refer people to a merchant’s site and make a decent commission. I run ads on Google linked to the product.

It is a really easy way to make money but there is a learning curve involved. Without a solid understanding of Internet marketing, pay-per-clicks and affiliate programs you could waste a lot of money. I did. At first.
But, then I discovered a way to get a free education. You can do it, too.

Five Simple Steps to Valuable free Information

1. Search the net for marketing products in the areas you are interested in ie: Affiliate programs, Search Engine optimization, Keywords, website building etc.

2.Find the sign-up for their free newsletter or ezine. All the Marketing Pros have them (but you might have to allow popups on some sites)

3. Sign up for the ezine or join the affiliate programs.

4. Repeat the process.

5. Check your inbox.

Now, you may be thinking: “Hold on a sec, there Dave! Aren’t these guys just going to pitch the hell out of me for stuff I can’t afford? What’s in it for me?”

All the Web Gurus have to face these questions everyday. How do they stop people from unsubscribing? How do they keep them coming back?

Lots and lots of free stuff! They reward their readership on a regular basis because they know “Buy! Buy! Buy!” is not going to… sell.

I receive about 40 newsletters from the Uber Affiliates and the like. It’s amazing the amount of free info I have acquired. They give away reports and ebooks. They give away How-to’s and tutorials. They give you free e-courses and informative interviews.

It’s a great headstart on your new marketing career but they don’t reveal everything. That’s when you can judiciously spend your hard-earned dollars on some of their products. It has saved me thousands!

So, if you are a running on a shoe string, have the time to read and assimilate tons of good info, and are willing to separate the wheat from the chaff… this method is for you. Oh, and you have to like get something for nothing. That is key. ;)

There’s gold in them thar emails!

Why would anyone buy information or an ebook online when they can find it for free?

It takes time to search and acquire all this free information and, as they say: time is money.

If you find a product that will immediately provide you with the solutions you need (and you can afford it) I suggest you consider buying the information. I buy as many marketing ebooks as my budget allows.

Some Practical Guidlines for Getting Involved with Internet Marketing

This article addresses the ‘how’ and ‘when’ of getting involved with internet marketing.

In this country we have been saturated with myths of instant wealth and fortunes made overnight.

Everyone has heard stories of someone who has gone to Las Vegas and ‘bet it all’ and won. People are encouraged to act impulsively with their business investments on the chance that ‘Lady Luck will smile on them.’

I personally believe that most people who gamble impulsively with their money lose it.

I believe the same thing is true of people who act impulsively when they get involved with internet marketing.

When is the best time to get involved with internet marketing? When you are still employed and already have a steady income, not when you are out of work or up against the stops financially.

I believe succeeding as an internet marketer takes time, persistence and investment. I believe there is a science to internet marketing and it involves a learning curve. When I started getting interested in internet marketing, I decided I would spend up to a year learning about it before I invested much money.

I was glad I did this. I still made mistakes, you will always make mistakes, that is part of the learning curve, but I believe I avoided losing a lot of money by being well informed.

How can you learn about internet marketing? Start surfing the surf exchanges a little.

It’s free, so all you might lose is a little time, but sign-up for some free e-courses.

You’ll see plenty of these! Realize that most of these e-books and courses have a commercial angle to them, so don’t start signing-up for everything they are promoting right away, but read a lot of different ones.

In getting involved with internet marketing one should, as I’ve said, already have an income. Crunch the numbers, and figure out how much extra income you can easily afford, after you pay all your bills, to invest in on-line marketing and then stick to that.

One good guideline is that a newbie should not spend more than about a hundred dollars on advertising, and not more until you see some trackable results from the ad.

I believe that, in general, millionaires are created in one of two ways; they either inherit the money or they carefully shepherd the income they have and leverage it into more.

What I mean by leverage is that they cut back on expenses so they have a little extra to invest and then they do this wisely. They repeat this process over and over.

Brian Beshore has been involved with Internet Marketing for several years. He publishes his own Home Business Guide.
